At St Hilda’s we believe that girls should be able to express themselves and explore their talents in a number of ways.
At St Hilda's there are various opportunities to be involved in a range of different activities, both in school and within the community.
Our special character is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that a key part of this is to give service to others, which we encourage our girls to do through a number of initiatives.
We encourage and promote student involvement in a variety of cultural areas. Girls can involve themselves in a number of areas from dance to debating, we celebrate individual talents and passions.
At St Hilda’s we have a dedicated and enthusiastic team of staff and parents who ensure all girls have the opportunity to participate in the sporting life of the school.
Living at St Hilda's
We offer boarding for up to 150 girls at our Boarding Residence, Tolcarne. Our staff work to create a home that our girls feel completely at ease in. Tolcarne will provide your daughter with the opportunity to grow herself to become a confident, resilient, happy, young woman who is able to connect with others and reach her full potential in a changing world.
International Students are a large part of the St Hilda's community. They access a significant part of their learning programme through our regular classes, where they work alongside our New Zealand students building strong friendships and connections. Each student is ensured to have a caring and homely environment to live, supporting our students is a priority.
We like different
At St Hilda’s, we embrace the individuality of every student. No two girls are the same, and we wouldn’t want them to be. They each have different learning styles, capabilities, unique talents and of course, personalities.
We’re not interested in a cookie cutter, one-size-fits-all education. It doesn’t work. Our aim is to give every single girl the opportunity to be their best, and have a fulfilling, successful learning experience. No student gets left behind, lost in the crowd, or unchallenged.
After all, we’re not just here to educate for a few years, we’re instilling a love of learning to last a lifetime.
